Imphal, Dec 21, 2016:
Socialist Students’ Union of Manipur, a student organisation has demanded to both the state and central government to tag the United Naga Council (UNC) a terrorist group.

Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, Naorem Tanoranjan, publicity secretary of the student organisation expressed strong condemnation of UNC saying that the people of Manipur is tired of tolerating its frequent inhuman acts.

Though it has been widely known that their activities are anti-social and unlawful, why the government still has not banned the group, Tanoranjan asked.

He further demanded for an immediate all political party meeting including civil voluntary organisations and UNC to bring about an amicable solution to the burning issue.

The Chief Minister of the state should have called for all political party meeting at the earliest but nothing has been done so far, said Tanoranjan alleging the present state government is unfit to rule the state.

He also demanded to restore the present communal unrest to normalcy and award befitting punishment to group of individuals who is provoking communal sentiments to innocent public.
